“Missionary work” to foreign lands can be a lucrative proposition, but it is not the work of the great commission. Jesus sent His disciples out to seek the lost sheep of the house of Israel only. After reading “For Whom Was The Bible Written” from Sheldon Emry, read this book.
“Since the lost tribes of Israel (who were never really lost) were continually spreading into more foreign lands, this final instruction from Jesus to his disciples, present and future, was to go into these nations and seek out the “lost sheep of Israel” and instruct them as to who they were and upon their repentance, baptize them into the Kingdom of God. This was done, both then and through the ages. It continues to be done today in the nations where the true Israelites reside. The majority of these lost sheep are now found in America and are being sought by a few active ministries and web sites such as this one. Instead of missionary efforts abroad in heathen lands, missionary efforts should be concentrated where Jesus directed them — in the proper nations where the lost sheep of Israel reside.”

“Gentile” - another very confusing and misused word in the Bible that has been used to mislead God’s people. If you think the Old Testament is about God dealing with the jews and the New Testament is about the “gentiles” or “non-jews” being “grafted in” to God’s plan for the jews, then you are one of those people that have been misled. This book that was written by Pastor Curtis Clair Ewing and presented by Pastor Sheldon Emry will help you begin to understand the proper use and meaning of the word “gentile” in scripture.
“Some scholars, in translating Genesis 48:19, where the Hebrew is me lo hag-goyim render it a company of gentile nations. The writer is convinced that a company or multitude of nations is the better translation. However, there is nothing wrong with the translation if the right meaning is attached to the word gentile. That is, they would become so much like other nations that they would not be recognized as Israel. That, of course, is a different meaning given to the word than is meant in the original text.
‘To Summarize: the word gentile is derived from the Latin word gentilis and is only one of several words that are used to translate the Hebrew word goi and the Greek word ethnos into English. The best word to use is nations. It would have been better if the word gentile had never appeared in the English text. Neither goi nor ethnos necessarily mean non-Israel, as has been shown above.”
